219 Design
Work
Overview
219 is a product engineering firm with more than two decades of experience, bringing mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines together to turn complex ideas into real-world solutions.
In 2023, 219 approached my agency ahead of their 20th anniversary in April 2024, seeking a brand refresh that would reflect their forward momentum. The challenge was to evolve a self-created brand without losing the integrity, credibility, and innovative spirit established by the company’s founders.
Through a strategic, in-depth brand audit, the team laid the foundation for a comprehensive rebrand. The result was a clearer messaging system, a bold refreshed identity, a visually engaging website, and a suite of brand assets designed to position 219 for the next generation of engineering innovation while preserving the trust they had built over the years.
For this project, I first developed an original brand concept that was presented alongside other internal agency directions. As the process evolved, the final direction moved toward a more direct transformation of the existing mark, preserving its recognizable foundation while giving it a full visual overhaul. The work shown here reflects the final brand system that came out of that process.
Under this direction, I designed the logo system, color palette, website concept, tagline, iconography, business card, email signature, ID badge, pen, custom backlit acrylic trade show display backdrop, and tablecloth. I also designed and helped execute the custom website, working with a development vendor while contributing directly to the WordPress build and custom CMS structure.
The website became a year-long effort on its own, with many custom areas and interactive elements, including animated graphics, motion design, interface details, and flexible content systems built to support 219’s evolving needs.
